THE ENGLISH ISSUE.
Dear Reader,
You've guessed it. It's that time of the year again - the second jetzt English issue has arrived.
After the positive response that followed last year's firnt special, we felt a follow-up issue
wouldn't go anriss. This year, we're raising the staken wich "Lotto"(page 6),- a short story by
world-famous author Douglas Coupland ("Generation T'), written exelusively for jetzt.
There's also an interview with Samuel L. Jackson (page 18), which can probably only be fully
appreciated in its original language. All of your favourite sections, such as "learning from the
wise"(page 14) and "boys only/ girls only" (page 16), are here, too. The vocabulary booklet in
the middle will help you pick up some new words along the way, and you'll be able to render
your teacher speechless with your in-depth knowledge of English literature if you follow the
advice in our "bluffer's guide" (page 28).
Whether you read it at school or from the comfort of your home, we hope you find the English
issue entertaining, useful and a lot of fun. Enjoy.
Yours sincerely,
the jetzt editorial team
